Thanks for the comment, Scott. You’re absolutely right. I think just the nature of where I’m at academically has brought me a lot closer to American environmental writing/writers, as well as the American-centric approach to ecocriticism. If I were to ever rewrite this article, I would just about certainly expand the discussion of a global environmental literary discourse.

Literary studies in many ways is meant to give a voice to the under-represented perspectives — and as far as i can tell, that’s somewhat of an issue in ecocrit in general. Though as you mention, those global views are definitely out there.
